This restoration is a celebration of my Father.
And his passion for vehicles that were unique and highly functional for his backcountry pursuits. Using his 1976 Bronco painted in saddle brown metallic as inspiration we are restoring a 1995 5 Door with a 300 tdi 5 speed manual into a soft top since my father liked to keep the top off as he explored the outdoors.
My father was a true outdoorsman and appreciated fine hand woven wools and bridle leather. The interior of Vaterchen is heavily clad in dark saddle brown bridle leather with accents of brown tweed wool. The interior is a beautiful compliment to the saddle brown copper metallic paint and dark coffee brown soft top. The carpet is a dark brown wool with a hand sewn leather edging. It is a timeless one of a kind classic with performance modifications to ensure it’s comfortable and capable in the woods, in town and on the highway. The perfection and attention to detail continues to the underside with nickel plated suspension components, representing my fathers nickel plated rifle and pistol he carried on several of his hunting adventures. We are still deciding if we will build a custom black walnut hospitality storage box for the rear cargo area or do a wood floor.
