The Leica Black Paint M Body & The Legendary Leica 35mm AA

This morning I was thinking about the things we choose to keep in our lives. Not the things we buy because they are available, but the few that truly carry meaning.

My mind drifted to Italy, where Christy and I spend our Decembers. There is a certain quiet to that time of year, and I made an unusual choice. I brought only one lens. No backups. No extras. Just one way of seeing the world.

The lens has a story. It was shaped by a single craftsman and no two are exactly alike. Some people would call its differences imperfections. I call them honesty. Soul. Character.

And each time I pressed the shutter, I felt a familiar spark. The quiet awareness that a moment with someone you love will never appear again. Yet somehow the image holds it for you. The light. The feeling. The memory.

Over time I have learned something simple.
Character lasts. Perfection fades.

The things that stay with us are never flawless. They are the ones that make us feel something. They remind us to slow down, be present, and choose with intention.

If this speaks to you, watch the video. I share why I collect the things I do, the beauty in so called imperfections, and the story of the craftsman who created something no machine could ever replicate.

Warm Regards,
Paul
