He was right on both counts.
I want to show you a Helderburg I miss dearly.
I was talking with a gentleman about building a Helderburg, and he said something I want to share with you.
“Paul, I’ve watched several hours of your videos and spoken with you a few times. It’s apparent you’re not building Helderburgs for profit, nor do you say how quickly you can build one. I find that refreshing.”
He was right on both counts. And that comment stayed with me.
It reminded me of my own journey before I ever built the first Helderburg, and why I started Helderburg in the first place.
Years ago, I commissioned a custom Defender from another builder. The conversation centered on horsepower, how quickly they could finish it and how many Defenders they have built. Somewhere along the way, I lost sight of…why I even wanted a classic Defender.
My inspiration had always been something much deeper: the nostalgia, the feeling, the personality that makes a machine come alive. But when that Defender finally arrived, it didn’t move me. It was fast, loud, and hollow. I sold it a few months later and never missed it.
That disappointment became the spark for Helderburg where every build is personal, thoughtful, and true to the soul of what a Defender should be. And that’s why I call my Defenders… Helderburgs.
Now, I want to show you one I do miss dearly.
Meet Darwin, the Helderburg 110 — a one-of-one, like every Helderburg we create.
